Hello. I’m an Australian person currently living in Greece. I mainly write (articles, stories, features, little notes to myself). And read. And try to get lots of thinking done.
In 1998, I left my hometown of Sydney, Australia, and travelled to Athens with a heavily underlined copy of Plato’s Symposium. I wanted to find my Aristophanean other half! And, I did. Now, I’m destined to travel back and forth between Australia and Greece, my feet planted equivocally in Yonderville, a place neither here nor there.
The journey has been Cavafian. In Kazantzakian fashion, to consume and exhume ideas, philosophies, texts, places. When I get full, I remind myself, like Socrates, that I know nothing. Sisyphus is my true friend. I ponder about this absurd life of ours and accept its Janus-like gift: punishment and pleasure.
